HOLY COW! Yep, I would have just about died!

I was cleaning out a utility shed. I raised exotic birds for years and saw a mouse in the feed room. So I was cleaning moving stuff around...
On a bench was a cast net (used for catching bait fish) my son had left laying there. I picked it up to hang it back on a pegboard. I looked down and intertwined in the net and my wrist was a red rat snake...I screamed bloody murder and tried to run out of the room and ran smack into the metal door frame. I swear it almost knocked me out.

I had a goose egg on my forehead

I have my orchids on the patio and I live in Florida as well. Wie have many of them they coming in through the bottom of the door. Wie have green once, dark grey once and nearly white once. My husband has given them names. They feel very comfortable between my orchids. It's fun looking at them. We even had a little nest of eggs.

I've found eggs, as well. There are ton of little babies at the moment. They change colors just like the parents.

Lizards are fun to watch. I have never seen one in the greenhouse. The lizards here are not colorful, but the black, grey, or brown markings on them are handsome. We also have Roadrunners that I am afraid eat lizards. The Roadrunners are also fun to watch and I understand they can be hand feed hamburger meat, though I would not try this at home.........I am enjoying the wildlife horror stories posted here. We of course have Rattle snakes here and I have heard of a particular variety of Rattle snake that will actually chase people and that they can be a bit quicker than you might think. I don't know absolutely that these 'racing snake' stories are true, but one credible witness said it happened to her. AL

We have eastern rattlesnakes. I have funny story about one but it would take all afternoon to typed the story out
