The late Eric Christenson told me personally that the only reason he used Phalaenopsis deliciosa for Kingidium philippinense was because of all the changes that would have to be made in the hybrid lists by using the genus Kingidium.

thanks Jim for your input and clearing it up!
i remember seeing a similar proposal for Dendrobium, where one of the concerns was the renaming of hybrids, oh well....
@Eric,
yes, no sweat, synonyms are fine.
Eric,
I don't think, it's Phalaenopsis deliciosa subsp. hookeriana. This species has never been reported from Philippines, also the flowers look diffrent for me.
Hi Mietek,
i also compared your shots before and cant really see significant differences, other than the deeper yellow coloration and some spotting.
i also dont have a description of this subsp. hookeriana, if somebody has it, pls post it.
Those flowers are different, one significant difference is the two lower sepals-on the Phal they droop significantly, whilst on the Kingidium, they are held fairly horizontal.
thanks Eric for additional pix!
so it seems the consistent coloration sets it apart, not so much the lateral sepals as Jordan earlier suggested.
