Diplocaulobium aratriferum

Lars, I have few Dendrobium books, which they barely cover Diplocaulobium. IOSPE begins to add more photos and A PNG site(not sure if it is a non-profit organization, so I am not going to list it here). A lot of them look alike but normally the plants look different. I see your falangiferum has different growths/leaves than my aratriferum...I grow only about 6 species from this genus, so I hardly know much about them. If you see a good website, please let me know.

I have never seen D. validicolle so I can't help you with that one.

About the falangiferum I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean phalangium, phalangillum or fariniferum?

I think that falangiferum is actually fariniferum (I bought it with an almost unreadable and hand-written label at the RHS orchid show a few years back).

My D validicolle looks very similar: maybe slightly thinner and longer pseudobulbs, slightly bigger leaves and habitus, but nothing which could not be normal variation and the flowers look a little bigger. But putting the two plants together I can't see much difference. They also often flower at the same time. I have tried several times to pollinate, but did'nt get any seed (either through selfing or between the two plants).

It seems to me that masses of flowers (usually about 5-6 that open at the same time on one plant) for both plants are induced by weather patterns.
