I usually tilt my paphs pot foward at an angle when it is just beginning to open. The bloom 'corrects' itself and after a few days after opening, after the bloom has set, I put the pot back down and the bloom faces directly forward. Of course, that is only going to work if you have a single bloom or if multiples have oriented themselves in the same direction.

Does that mean you don't have to stake them at all, Jason? Actually, most of mine don't need to be tied facing upward - but I get worried their little heads will get tired!
