Beautiful!
I had not seen this particular variety. Thanks for sharing the gorgeous pics and info!
Wonderful.
I love purpurata var. anelata. I had 'Adams I' a few years ago, unfortunately I lost the plant.
Thanks for the beautiful picture and lesson. I really appreciate it!
Just exquisite, Horst. I know I may have asked you this before, but can you give a quick rundown of your camerawork on this photo? It is, in my humble opinion, just about perfect, and I'd like to learn from you. Thanks....
By the way, in French, it's anneau

That is a spectacular flower!
I love it too, it looks beautiful and I like the color contrast of the purple against the white.

Maura,
It took some time to answer you about our camera work.
"Our camera work" because most of the images are taken by my assistant Karina.
I'm traveling most the time of the year. My input is restricted in arranging the equipment and improving her skills.
We are using mainly a Canon 1000D. All images of normal size flowers are taken with a standard lens 18-55mm.
For small flowers we may use a Canon lens EF50mm 1:1.4 Ultrasonic.
The aperture is kept as small as possible and compensated by keeping it longer open. This helps to get more depth of field.
The work area is a simple fabric as a backdrop. Please see the image.
Most the time the images are taken in a bright shadow (Less contrast on the image). Sometimes under direct light from the sun dimmed with a 60% shade cloth (More contrast on the image). We don't choose either one. Images are taken on Wednesday every week with sun shine or with overcast.
In case you have any other question please ask.
