Yes connie, it looks a lot like Bactia grape wax, they both get the wonderful color from G. bowringiana.

That is gorgeous! Reminds me of a plant I have that hasn't bloomed in a long time. Very pretty...love the color and the plant looks very healthy.

The Plant is not that big, about 8-10 inches, but the spikes are long about 14-16 inches. But the growth habit is very nice due to the Encyclia parentage, they grow nicely in dense straight clumps.

Love the color in this orchid hybrid, Amey. BTW, Welcome Back!! Oh, and I looked it up. This orchid is now named: Guaricyclia Plicaboa (Gur. bowringiana x E. plicata)

Beautiful, Amey! I love the Encyclia influence on the growth and bloom placement on the spike, and yet with the Cattleya type substance from the Guarianthe parent! The entire presentation is stunning.
