Here are 2 pictures for Maura showing the leaves too. The colour is pretty much as accurate as I can reproduce. it. The colour is a glaucous green with mottling. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to You and the whole Family - and Happy Homecoming to Phillip.

Yew, if there is one available, get a 'Polarising' filter lens attachment for the camera. Takes whites beautifully & retains coloration.

Thanks Roy for the tip. When I was using colour slide film with my old Nikon F3 the good, old Polarising filters were almost a permanent attachment to the lens.I still have 2 polarisers, a linear and a circular but both with 52mm filter thread, My kit lens, an 18-70mm Nikkor takes 67mm filter thread and my macro Tamron SP 90 is a 55mm threader. Polarising filters nowadays cost a bomb, almost as much as a good lens! I guess in a pinch I could use a step-down/up filter ring to use the old 52mm on my Tamron.....now to dig up the polarisers.......

Aha! I learned about polarizing filters at one point,and, finding out how much they cost, decided I'd just work with white balance adjustments for awhile - but I have one on my wishlist!

Hi, Yew - for a man who doesn't have the time to refine his photos, you've certainly done a great job. I love how the light coming from behind sets up the different whites, red, and yellows in the bloom - and those leaves! They make a great background for the bloom, don't you think?
