Wow Yew! I am impressed with first, the sentiment in the naming, second the beauty of this orchid, and lastly with the number of years you have tended this plant. I know this isn't your oldest orchid, but special it must be. AL
Thanks Al. It is special - this may be the only survivor from a population that used to grow on a small limestone/sandstone hill, which has been quarried over the years to almost a mole-hill now. There are still a few isolated hills around but I have not explored these but I suspect these may still have some niveums on them.
Hi Yew,
I'm very fascinated with the bloom, so much purity and devine with it. i really love this. and it really applicable to Maura.Really symbolize the spirit of orchid lovers.
Jeff, you're saying the words which I want to express so well. This's the most elegant Paph niveum I've ever seen. The way it's named must be the impressive story behind it, although I don't know what it is, because I'm new here. Congratulations to Maura, too. ^_^ I remember Mr.Yew(Cattan), Maura and also Jeff came to my intro thread and saying hello & give me a warm welcome & start conversations with me, so appreciated & thankful to all of you.
The stem is really tall, but I really like the way it is, the tall upstraight long stem with its beautiful pure white flower on the top, and the flower itself has the good balance round shape, too. Contrasting with the black scene backdrop curtain making out the most of its stunning elegant pure beauty, this must give the credits to Mr.Yew, the time of 25 years...there seems no influence on its greatness, so the orchid is truly ageless beauty, so is the beauty within its grower!
p.s. now I wish to have one already.... ^_^
Lynn
