Hi folks, I purchased this as Stereochilus hirtus ---- vendor information removed - see faqs on posting ----, these are pics from its second flowering - the plant is mounted and the growths are tightly clustered with succulent leaves that reach about 2 inches at the most. When it flowers it throws up about a dozen very thin inflorescences that max at about 3 inches, the flowers open almost all at the same time and last just a few days at which point the infl. starts to die. I asked a friend, Timothy Choltco, for some help and contacted ---- vendor information removed - see faqs on posting ---- after I took pictures and blew them up (flowers are 1/4 in or smaller) and realized it was not S. hirtus. ----vendor information removed - see faqs on posting ---- l had no idea (did recall them flowering while they had them in stock) and Timothy thinks the best guess is Ascochilus nitidus. The flower is very similar BUT the inflorescences do not continue growing/producing more flowers. These flowers are at the limit of my camera (6MP Panasonic DMC F27) so they are not quite a crisp as I'd like.
