that rocks!!! thing are really changing...wow!
hopefullly this season, there will be more good plants around here besides just the normal phal and catt hybrids and such, which is good, because getting bag babies are a great way to add to orchid collections.
I too purchased one of those blue Catt babies last year and it's already at least doubled in size!

If you find out who is selling the bag babies wholesale, tell them there is a whole new market waiting for them in UK and EU ... but I expect the horrendous CITES etc will put them off. It would try the patience of a saint...
The grower that offers these plants in bags (they also offer plaqued plants on cypress) has been around for years. The two sons took over where the father left off. They have massive greenhouses in Arcadia, FL. They started out with caladiums. We have a place in Lake Placid that is the capital of caladiums in the US. It is an interesting story of how they came to offer orchids in bags.
“When I was a boy, one day my father came home from the Florida Everglades, and on the back seat and floor of his Model T Ford was an eight-point buck deer, a wild bearded turkey gobbler, and from a fallen cypress tree, a strange plant with long sharp horns and hundreds of magnificent tiger spotted yellow-green flowers, a Cyrtopodium orchid. The sharp needle pointed horns stuck my finger and it must have infected my life with an incurable disease known as Orchid Fever.”
