Hi Robert I am curious about the progress of the seedlings how are they? This method seems way easier to try, perhaps when I get so bold to do a flask with some tutelage I'll try the left over pod like this.

That is what I would do is have some opening for some air movement a small fan nearby to keep air circulating

Earlier this year I sowed some of my Dendrobium kingianum around the mother plant. No joy; of course the mature plant's environment was too harsh. Thanks to this thread, I have realised I ought to have removed some rooting medium from the mother plant and used it to sow seeds in a controlled environment like a ventilated clear container.
I shall try again in the new year- may be with these sensible measures I will have success! Thanks and congratulations for this great adventure!
