9 spike Sharry Baby question.

Yep same plants same spikes, I took the least advanced photo back in May. It does seem to be taking longer than I remember when It would spike in the past. The flowers at the base of the spike are starting to emerge so hopefully not much longer.

Miller move away from the plant....u said "snapped" and my heart skipped....thank God u meant photograph......if this is the same sharry baby....do they take this long to bloom?????? it seems this is i n spike a long time

Oncidium Sharry Baby is a wonderful orchid that just grows and grows. Congratulations. Now - no more snapping off the spike tips.

Do you guys have really mild winters, Bruce? Or does the greenhouse stay warm enough in the winter? I may invest in a small one if it stays warm enough.

It gets pretty cold here. I keep the greenhouse at 55 degrees during the winter.

I too love Sharry baby and I have 3 plants. One of mine is in spike and opened it' first flower today. I really look forward to seeing your plant and all those spikes in bloom!

miller, i would leave it outside until in full bloom, or you could blast a lot of buds from temp and light change. mine (only one, but very large spike) is a little ahead of yours, but i have been waiting since april.... taking forever, but maybe in the next week or so i will have open flowers. cannot wait unitl mine gets that size!
