Flowers perhaps one inch spread - more than 2 cm anyway. A first flowering of this plant.
I put in the three-quarter view of the flower to show that spur, nectary or whatever - quite reminiscent of some Aerides flowers ( A.odorata as just one example). No scent though, although , as you can see, the plant was sprayed this morning, when I spotted the open flowers and brought it in for photography without drying off, and maybe I sprayed away all the perfume, if any.
The colouring is also interesting - those faint broken lines of pink *, making the flower pink from a distance, before you get closer ; I can't actually think of anything exactly like that except maybe a Rhyncho' coelestis I flowered some time ago. Then again, I think I can see Asctm in it too, those thickish roots sticking straight out of the growing basket ( probably due to my growing technique) but whatever due to , some things like Phal species, and Asctms do it, also Neofinetia intergenerics, but others - Holcoglossum crosses don't.
A mystery ; I will award a prize to whoever comes up with the most likely guess - I may even recall the name on the lost label when I see it !
BTW I am 99% certain that it is a primary hybrid ; for reasons which I expect those interested in this group of orchids can guess.
I look forward to hearing.
* an afterthouight - that colour pattern is reminiscent of some large vandas, but I don't think they are concerned here, because the flowers are too small, and quite a different shape in all respects .
