Very nice Connie though very .little roots still reward you beautiful flowers.
Yes this is from those big buckets full of top cuttings...and to me it looks a little sad. It will grow better roots in time though. Thank you...I would love to see pics of your orchid show. I had to schedule so my mom can come down and help us...and if I could I would put it off a week as I love my yearly orchid show. I will just have to go back through old pics and look at everyone's shows pics...mine included.
I use the setting sun to get that glow effect. When it's sunny, mid day it is difficult to get a good shot most of the time. I have practiced A LOT since I began taking pics out back. Sometimes I have to wait for the sun to go behind a cloud to take decent daytime pics. For the shot with dark behind the flower, I go indoors and sit the plant so that nothing is behind it for several feet and use flash. It lights up the flower and shows the background as a perfect black...if you get enough "empty space" behind the plant. I also have learned to take my shot with the sunlight coming from behind me and place the plant so the sunlight is caught by the full surface of the flower. Today's digital cameras have allowed me to become pretty good. Not as good as the pro's...but certainly not bad for an amateur. I appreciate everyone's compliments, I've gotten quite tickled over this whole new hobby of mine.
