Maybe that is one advantage of living "in the dark". LOL
Here in Cotabato an orchid is called any of the following common names: vanda, dendrobium, the occasional phalaenopsis, cattleya, and "ground orchid" for any of the spaths. Anything that is diminutive or doesn't quite fit the stereotype is called "native". Hahahahaha. No proper names, just common names. And it's as simple as that. And we do not know any better. And everybody's happy.
