Oh, Connie - those are stunning!!!! Did I mention I'm seriously considering moving to southwest FL - my orchids LOVED it in Marco - I hardly had to pay any attention to them - and they are in mourning, although surviving in Atlanta (I hope - I won't be home from New England until the 4th of June.) Really, the photos and the Catt. hybrids are absolutely wonderful. I must have some someday.

Surprised by the coloration of your Hippo -- never seen one with that coloration before. Quite interesting.

Why are the leaves spotted? do you think too much sun? watered and fertilized as my other catts.

The spotting is just from high light levels -- I've seen this often on catts. "Too much sun"? I'd say "no", though the spotting is an indication that you are at the upper threshold of what it can handle.

When you move you will have to come this way so we can find you a few gems to mount on the trees down there. I may have to nurse a section of a schomb off one of the mounts for you to initiate one of your palm trees with.

I'd say the spotting is from high sunlight which is good. Maybe it would like a mount? When I get plants that don't bloom, switch something up. Try a different fertilizer once a month, it could be a minor nutrient it is missing...or if you don't do a dry winter rest, try going with a dry bright winter for them. Not sure but usually if mine don't bloom in the past it was the wrong fertilizer combined with not enough sun. And yours doesn't look starved for sun...so i'm guessing winter rest or fertilizer.

Connie , here is my Hippodamia, Its leaves are rather short for having B. nodosa as a cross.
It has never bloomed for me. I have it growing with my other Catt.

You know there are some Cattleyas I don't care for much, but these have such neat form and such a vivid mix of colors that i'm impressed. By the way, now when I'm talking 'shots' its always using a camera...........................AL
