I think the question how do you grow it may have been based on, like, in a pot or whatever. I am a latecomer to growing bareroot - have only recently shifted all my cattleyas that way, albeit on wood, like branches ; followed by some of the bulbos, started with Masdevallias, and most recently Vandas. Teh main problem is how the heck am I going to bring them into the house as decoration and to be admired ? This is chilly old UK. Plants in the greenhouse are seen only briefly - I have to spend far more time in the house, and I want to be able to walk past a display in the hallway, and give it an admiring glance every time I go past.. I have not tried any Aerides this way yet , but have found they are extremely slow to adapt to growing on wood blocks, if they ever will.
But plants this size I have never seen in the flesh , and doubt if any, certainly not many orchidists in UK have either. The ones we can get are seedlings coming up to first flowering, three or four pairs of leaves...
My jealous green tinge can' be see via cyberspace !
