Dendrobium victoriae-reginae is endemic to the highlands of the major islands of the Philippines. It was named by Augustus Loher in 1897 to honor Queen Victoria, who was about to celebrate her 50th anniversary on the throne.

I had this plant before but they all withered away. I hope to keep this batch for a long, long time.

The camera doesn’t quite capture the purplish-blue colors. I shall be posting follow-up photos under sunlight, to see if that does the trick.
