I suspect new growth as well...

Uhh. So what is it?
Still hard to say. I am still leaning growth, but it is a fall bloomer.
When I received the orchid the new growth for the season was about 3 inches tall. But very flat. Much wider and flatter than this 'nub'

I have confirmation from Dorsetman (Thanks Geoff!) that it is a new pb growing.
A spike on this would look like any other oncidium spike. Round.
In my experience, when hoping or thinking its a spike, it ends up to be new pseudobulb growth!![]()
I agree that it's great for new growth, but you can't beat a new spike!!!![]()
