I know it looks a bit odd, but the pot stands normally and the plant was potted up sort of leaning to the side. I watered when it started to feel dry, fert every other watering, misted daily (when I was home). Fairly low light - maybe too low??

I was too busy shoveling my car out of 3 + feet of snow (1 foot of which was man made by street snow plows) to have any energy left to take pics. I had to shovel my car out Sunday morning, Monday morning, and Tuesday morning, thanks to the plows. I live in NYC by the way.

What part of North Carolina? I used to live in Greensboro...

I grew up in Durham, so I was a Blue Devil growing up!

And the same thing happened there as in VA, ATester! We would get a threat of an inch or two of snow and everyone would go crazy. Store shelves were empty! And most of the time we wouldn't get any. I've found that it really depends more on the snow plows in some ways than on how much snow there is. This foot of snow that we got... the roads were cleared fairly quickly. If a couple inches fell in NC or in VA or in the DC area (where I'm also lived), no one had any idea what to do! I once saw 3 snow plows driving around the DC area highways all in a row, one right after the other, plowing a bare road. The first putting down salt and not plowing. The second plowing the salt dropped by the first and putting down salt. And the third plowing the salt left by the second. Oy! But it did often mean more days off from school or work. I thankfully didn't have to shovel my car. My boyfriend was kind enough to do that for me. I got to sit nice and cozy inside, writing my paper! Bless him!

PS. The little Mini Mark just arrived today! Looks like it survived the trip without any problems! Can't wait for the buds to open. I hope they don't blast! (And I'm happy to report that I did pass my 3 tests and finished my paper with time to spare)

I guess it depends, is the standard form or the alba form of Guatemalan Forest Pygmy??

Guatemalan Forest Pygmy var. coerulea are my personal favs. The condition exists when they hold their breath for too long.

Oh yeah - while digging through plants at the unnamed box store, there was a dark looking paph in bud. I, of course, checked the tag. It read, "Paph. vini coloratum". How's that for labeling! A fancy-sounding NOID with a contradictory name!

I haven't actually found an orchid lexicon, but out of context I believe the coloratum maudiae paphs have normal colors with some purples and greens; the albas are greens and whites; the vinis are the deep purples; and, well I haven't seen a coerulea paph, but it would be blue. Any other orchidie terms anyone's wondered about?
