Hello forum~

I am so so sad. It all started a few days ago when I received a gorgeous, budded Mae Bly 'Splash', one of my 'wish list' catts. The 2 buds looked a little cranky but I figured they were just travel weary. They wound up taking a turn for the worst (continued to yellow & shrivel) and I decided to just cut the spike when it started turning BLACK.

2 days later, I received a new Dewey Forest 'Kudos'! Some of you may have seen my posts where I was devastated by a sick Dewey I received as a gift a few months back. I couldn't save it and had been searching for a replacement. I finally found one and it arrived on Saturday. It looked pretty good but in desperate need of repotting. I didn't want to mess with it while it was budded so I just moved the whole mess into a bigger pot and added some bark, planning to re-pot after the flowering. Everything looked okay, buds were about 50% exposed from the sheath.

Fast forward to today. I notice that one of the buds is getting a little yellow. Still traumatized from the Mae Bly event, I decided to pull the sheath down to check the integrity of the buds.
This is what I find:

There was no moisture in the sheath and no discernible reason for this! Is there anything I can do? Honestly, I'm having a really crappy few days and these plant mishaps are really making it worse. I am starting to dread buying anything in bud or sheath now since my last few deliveries have been huge disappointments. I am not even going to get into the root rot ordeals..*sigh* I could really use some encouragement and / or hopeful feedback.

Thanks a bunch!
