actually I think we just need to ask Julie how she budgets for the bottles and the orchids... then we'd all be happy

There is no choosing between the two. Must have both. Period. Liquid fertilizer comes in a variety of grades. The more expensive brands are reserved for special occassions (just to remind you why you spend your days toiling for the almighty dollar.) The more toxic, but affordable, labels are used for every day consumption (which is why we occasionally show the effects of fert burn.)

Likewise on o'chid purchases. Snap up the lovely NOID that melts your heart, or the "on special - five for 30 bucks" deals where you can. And then parcel your purchases of those rare species or varieties that you'd sell your soul for if your soul were worth a dime.

It's all about balance. Just remember, whether for orchids or booze - a cheap hangover hurts more.

Quite well put, Julie. Thank you. I usually keep a good stock of yuengling around (only 17 for a case of bottles), and i try to keep my real spending devoted to the orchids.

After seeing you double secret Smithsonian haul, and now learning about your Yuengling stash, you clearly understand balance!

He appears to be an emergent Jedi...
