Very nice form on this one! Is this the first blooming?

Some of the greatest Paph. rothschildianum come from Europe and Asia... the US cultivars can't compare to the great quality found in the newer Asian forms! Your's has great great coloration and form!

Uncasteeb, your roths has NOW excellent flowers.

Tomorrow will be excellent as the flowers are still growing and will improve with time. It's really a nice paph.

I am astonishment surprised because your roths looks like a roth I flowered last year (dark varierty, similar shape, light green leaves ...). I bought my paph in EUR but it comes from west USA !

I wonder when mine are going to bloom. They looks mightily big and have many growths already. I am giving them the high light treatment, maybe they will decide to bloom one day!

ania, I find that most of the multiflorals do very well in s/h, along with complex paphs. the ones that give me more trouble are the maudiae-types (at times) and the parvi hybrids. brachys I have given up on. the water temps in the reservoir gets very low in the winter and I suspect that is a large part of the problem. seems to me that once in a while, a plant that is doing just fine just loses 3/4 of its roots in s/h, but most of my coryopedilums do just fine. I would wait until the spring to make the move, however.

Unfortunately no.
Tried contacting the vendor for info but the language barrier appears to big an obstacle.
From the size of the plant i would hazard to guess that it is a fairly modern clone , i have 3 more roths that are approaching "blooming size" & 1 of them has just over a 30" LS compared to the 20" of the blooming 1.The larger 1 has roth "Charles E" as the pollen parent & these can get big.

Well second flower has opened & i like it better than the first.
Stripes on the dorsal are more defined.
Hopefully more flowers next blooming.

Thanks for the info. I just switched my phrags to s/h. I have 3 large paphs (including rothchildianum) that I am planning to switch to s/h in spring. Do I need the pro-tekt with my RO water? My pH of water with fertilizer in it is between 7.2 and 7.6.

Bat guano for fertilizer sounds very exotic. I actually have a bat house on the south side of my house, but I am not brave/adventurous enough to utilize it.

Why would YOU want to use the bat house? I think the bats would find it a LOT more comfortable. I tried sleeping upside down once, and did not like it at all!!!!

If you mean using the guano, then why not? You do not have to get it out of the bat house. If you do not see it on the ground below the house you do not have bats. But maybe you already knew that?
