lipstick plant

Hi
I have just joined this website to look for information. I have a lipstick plant that I am trying to get to bloom. I found a picture on this site but can't seem to find any info on it.

I also have an orchid that I seem to have more success with than what I think I should. The gal who gave it to me says my conditions are good for it so don't change anything. It has now bloomed for a second time and the blooms just fell off, the stem browned back to the first node and it seems that the node is now starting to bud out. Not sure what that means but I will wait and see.

I had one of those a few years back. Just wouldn't do well for me though I tried, so I gave it away.
