While I'd never guess the ID of a NOID hybrid Phal, I'm much more comfortable with giving it a name if it's a NOID species Phal. They're so distinctly different from each other. Certainly in your case, Kerry, I'm quite certain this is an equestris. No other Phal species is even close in appearance. If it were a hybrid, there would be some othe influence visible, and everything in yours looks pure equestris.

99p is 1 cent less than a pound, I believe. I believe with the current exchange rate that's about $2 USD.

I think Clint is right and that the exchange rate at the moment is about 2$ to £1

As to expiry dates - sort of, in the supermarket they always put expiry dates on flowers - mostly because they are guaranteed to flower for a certain length of time otherwise poeple can claim their moeny back. It think it is normally meant to be for cut flowers, but as they sell orchids as plants rather than cut flowers most of the time, they get included too.
