Wow, I am SOOOOOOOO excited! And having a particularly tough weekend, having taken the bottle away from our son, trying to transition to a sippy cup. Anyone who is a parent knows how trying this can be (Traci?) for some kids.

Oh, I was there, so I understand. I started the transition at 6 months so at 9 months he was off completely. His Micky (pacifier) he had at naps until he was almost three. That wasn't so fun. I sat in the corner and cried with him. Talk about feeling like the worst Mother in the world. Your son will be ok, and so will you! A nice winning to bring some sunshine to your weekend!

I, for one, am way bummed out. But since I don't get to read the Globe (its $6 here and you only pick it up on Monday) I don't know all of the scuttlebutt. I have heard that Nomar would not have been back anyway??

It is very strange to see him in a Cubbies uniform. Of course, he must feel like he traded curses.

I think he would not have been back next year anyway and he's been playing lousy, and hurt again, so I'm not too sad to see him go at the moment. Also I think he's not been terribly cool in the clubhouse this year. Not a team player, and we need everyone on board! That said, I'll certainly miss his OCD tendancies! Makes me feel sane watching him!

seems to me that the bridge had been burnt, and he had to go. can't have one of your stars be a malcontent, doggin it on the field, doggin it in the dugout (sitting when everybody else is on the edge of the railing)...if you can get someone for him, so much the better.
