FLIES! AWWW!

Had many gnats but since I started growing a few CP in a small tray they are really under control. They seem to be really attracted by the bright green leaves of the Pinguiculas. once they land they cant leave. and my CP propagated. and in the tray only a few are decent sized as some I got from trades are really tiny not mature yet divisions [esp the Droseras]. Ping moctezumae grows really fast and multiplies. I was bothered by gnats and I resorted to that ugly sticky tape in front of a lamp - got many but well with the Ping a few very few gnats fly around.

I heard coffee works too...

here is another story, a friend of mine got huge super fat pbulbs from a common "dancing lady", and the lady who sold it said: her secret is, she fertilizes em with a detergent!!!
i dont see why this lady should lie....,but it sounds soooo absurd!

Many detergents are P based. They try to limit it now I believe, because it causes problematic algal blooms in freshwater. Household "grey water" (everything but the sewage) is known as a good fertilizer and can be used for watering landscaping etc.
