Paph. esquirolei.. It ain't

Well, this'll teach me to check things out for myself before ditto-ing something based on a casual glance and comparing it to something in my memory.

Here's a pic I found of my Julius (a crappy and small pic, taken a few years ago before I understood how to photograph flowers) but even though a lot of the detail is obscured, the broadness of the dorsal with its thin striping is still pretty apparent, and quite different from that of the flower you put up, Gin.

Certainly doesn't look like your Julius, Louis, even from a distance.

Gin's big flat green staminode looks more like haynaldianum than anything else. Maybe lowii, but it's so standout, I'd say haynaldianum. Just my guess anyway. Jason's the god!

did you ever get that resolved with the vendor? seems to me like a refund should have been in order.

Thanks Jason ,Your input is appreciated . I did not get anywhere with the vendor , after he insisted it was Julius . His loss, I won't buy from him again , he is not an easy person to deal with . Your photos are beautiful You are right, mine it is not Toni Semple. Gin

I won't press, but I am curious as to who that vendor is. If I were you, I would have told him he was full of ____ and that everybody you know would share that opinion. But that's just me, I get more than a little irritated when I get ripped off...
