1,2,3 great white is too basic and too e-z.
Jervis, here is the second of two threads I have posted of this Philippine species orchid. There is an even earlier thread entiitled "Aeridinae Pteroceras Unguiculatum" where I uploaded the picture of the fruit or seed pod of this remarkable orchid.
what a cool looking orchid! i've never seen this before. it would probably not do well here without a greenhouse (appears to be a hot grower), but darn if i ever see one i'm getting it just to try! this looks very much like a phal plant-wise, i would like to get some of the more exotic orchids that grow similar looking to phals... very cool the way the old flower stems rebloom later on. i like plants that do that!
You're right. Being a native of the Philippines, it loves hot, humid conditions but, unlike vandas, it prefers the shade. It does look like some of our native phals, the form I mean. But it has fleshier leaves than those of a phal and it grows much faster. And I don't think this would grow well in a pot like a phal. I just wish its flowers would last as long as a phal.
I didn't do that post. Somehow the girl who covered for me when I was on vacation got into my account. Probably because I forgot to sign off. Was no where near a computer for 9 days.
Sorry
