Hello Orchidbaby,

Thanks for sharing pictures of your new orchidarium! I have myself been looking to purchase one, but at the moment am growing plants with the "low tech" version - as you would say.

Per your inquiry on the heat from the compact florescent lights - I too grow my plants under such bulbs and I notice that the heat from them is enough to dry out the medium, etc. faster than I would ideally like. Admittedly, I am not running a fan around my plants - they are just in open air space, not contained, but still the light can be quite warm. Unfortunately I have no magic solutions and am not sure how to address the problem even in my situation. I can simply confirm that I have seen the same thing with my plants.
