Southerners are totally inept at dealing with any type of frozen precipitation. Houston pretty much shuts down at the thought of ice, or in a very rare case, snow. Northerners can laugh, but it really is better this way. We have way too many bridges, too much moisture in the air and very little experience driving in such conditions. It is best for everyone to stay home and snuggle under a warm quilt with a warm beverage of choice.

I like to stay home and watch the news reports with all the people sliding all over the roads trying to go over a large overpass. Our roads are generally dangerous due to ice - very slick, but hard to see ice. We just aren't equipped for it.
