I understood that it was your primary heat source. Good luck with humidity. I have bowls with sphag moss that I moisten and keep in the bottom of my mini green houses to help elevate. I have to rewet them every couple of days. I use hot water when I do rewet them. It gives a little extra humidity until it cools off.

I fluctuate my house every day down to 60 F. So I come home with the house having gotten to 78- 80 F and I put on shorts while opening the doors, turning on the attic fan and tuning on the a/c. Then by bedtime I put on longs.

I live alone. I doubt anyone would put up with my 'eccentricities' at this point in time (unless I hooked up with another orchid nut is suppose).

One of the benefits of living in south Florida, humidity is not a problem, sometimes heat can be the problem but not that often.

Sounds to me even an orchid lover might have a problem moving in Harvey, would you have any room for them anyway!
