That's some collection! I only have 4 & 1/2 (Keiki?) They all look in good fettle to me. I'm sure they'll all be fine, Good Luck in your new home, Judi
Hi ya'll !!!!
Gee, I've missed being here
I'm finally able to spend more time (but not enough) on my orchids & plants.
We're still working on the old house getting it ready to sell, but now it's just little stuff. Hubby's been really great about getting my shade house up to snuff & I've added more pics to the album showing the progress.

This winter we had 4 freezes & now we're in a drought.... plants were damaged, but orchids survived!! They really like it out here, I have lots in bloom or spike... it's great. They still need more attention, but they're alive, so pray for them...LOL
My daughter & I are going to the Redland sale Friday & we have vowed to stay within our budgets, no seedlings or small plants & buy only what we know we can grow. Wish us luck
Valerie
Welcome back Val !!! Your orchid house looks WONDERFUL.

Wow that looks impressive. Very nice space you have there.
Valerie, that's a nice thought. Now go get some neat stuff! Budgets do not apply to orchids. Good luck and happy hunting! Gotta fill that great orchid house.Originally Posted by Valb561

Today I am glad that we are not living anywhere near the US and orchid sales - we got our credit card bill yesterday and it was twice our normal expenditure and all to do with the amount of gardening we have been doing recently.
We are very poor now! And Budgeting must become my new best friend.
LOL!!! I soooo wish that was true, I was tempted a few times to pull out that little piece of plastic!!! But Tracy & I were very good girls, we only spent $200 each & believe it or not, I think I did better this time than when I went crazy & spent $400 2 years ago!! I was looking for mature plants, hopefully fragrant. Here's what I got.....
Eplc. Merry Green "Taida" (4 buds) $30
Epi. Floribundum epi. cordigerum (3 spikes $30)
2 Mini palmer vandas (BS $12.50 each)
Epi. El Hatillo "Santa Maria" (7 spikes $35)
3 ft. long cutting of Vanilla (thick stalk & new growth -$10 !!)
Blc. Alma Kee "Tipmalee" (2 sheaths? $20)
Asc. Miniatum "Kai Gold" ($20)
Vasco. Thai Sky "Meechai" (spike starting $20)
lunch- gyro & water -$10
We are both very happy with our purchases![]()
Good for you - with all those spikes you will have lots to show us in the coming months!
