Nice light just on the bloom! The dark background of green really makes the bloom stand out! Even if it never opens up fully, it is still a lovely bloom!
Cheers!

I like your picture, the back lighting adds drama to your photo. Sometimes, Phrag flower petals do get stuck and I at times would manually open the petals for them gently but usually I leave them alone. My Phrag longifolium does that all the time and longifolium is one of the parents of St Peter which explains why.
Thanks guys! yeah, that pic came out well. I love how you can see the very crystaline sparkliness of the new fresh bloom. I really do love this cross.
Pete, I can't even see where I could manually seperate the petals. I did that w/ the dorsal, because the seam was evident, but not w/ the remaining petals.
Heather, some blooms on a plant's first spike will very often come out deformed, or with parts missing, or with parts fused together. It's just their way. No worries. You grow enough of them and you just grow to expect it--are pleasantly surprised, actually, when it *doesn't* happen. It's a great cross, and a very healthy specimen!
Heather, lja is right. Your plant may be in bloom after bloom and very soon you may even be tired of seeing it in bloom for so long that you won't even care if one of the blooms was deformed.![]()
Not sure I could get tired of this one.I love it still! This one though is definitely a mutant. I realized this morning it isn't attached to the lower back petal at all, its like one huge petal instead of like the opposite one. Weird, but kind of cool.
I have a Sedenii (or rather my mother has it, since I needed the room) that has occasionally thrown a solitary weird flower from the twilight zone. All other blooms on the spike are normal. I have a picture of it somewhere but just can't @#&# find it now...
Thank goodness for mothers!Actually, this bloom has grown on me. I like the pic.
