I'd love to see a pic of the whole plant
I attached a picture from earlier in the season. The plant has two new shoots now and masses of roots above ground (and hopefully undeground too). It appears that a well grown plant will keep leaves up to 3 seasons, maybe more

I grow mine in a mix similar to Lycaste and Stanhopeas : I use a mixture of styrofoam chips, epiweb, CHC and perlite, ensuring that there is less CHC at the bottom of the pot and more at the top. This is important as CHC needs air to dry out. Intermediate conditions and slightly brighter than Phalaenopsis. My plant gets a little sun (but not full on) in the morning and evening. The plant got two new growths, but I don't know yet how well the roos are growing and whether it will flower again next year.

    Many thanks Lars,

Not having access to CHC in Ireland, I have repotted into a large clear Pot with Epiweb cubes. Hopefully I can watch the roots grow though the media. The seller I bought it from told me never to use sphagnum when potting Neomoorea. A pH issue ?

    Sean,

I am wondering how your plant is doing. Mine is getting two new shoots, but no flowers stalks. So I guess, it won't flower this year. I also noticed a few strange white furry eggs in the substrate on one side of the pot; not quite sure what it is and whether actually a pest, but may have to repot.

Not much information around on cultivation, except that it is difficult to bloom. I grow it in intermediate conditions and dappled sunlight for a few hours a day, although it doesn't get any direct sun in winter. Moist in summer and drier and cooler in winter. It grows well, but alas no flowers yet.

Not to mention have sufficiently deep pockets Interesting species. Looks like spathoglottis meets grammatophyllum scriptum!

Actually, the plant only cost me as much as 2 large cattleya's ... I couldn't believe it and think the vendor may have made a mistake.

Just beautiful, Lars - stunning color and markings. It's good to know it's a huge plant, because otherwise I'd have to get one!

I have a Neomoorea irrorata whos purchase was inspired by this very post Lars. My plant is relatively small so it may be years before I see blooms. Some people look forward to retirement. Some look forward to being with the grand kids and family. Me , I look forward to see my Neomoora irrorata bloom......... AL
