BD - You genius! What a difference this will make to so many of us - and I speak for myself, especially - this is going to help my research immeasurably. Thank you for such a grand effort - and success!

I specifically asked Alex about that today when we were finalizing the arrangements. He said that he is not planning to make a version specifically for the mac. But he also said that many people already use OrchidWiz on the mac with Parallels or VMware Fusion software. I believe once you install one of those programs, you can install a copy of windows and then use windows software on your mac.
Cheers,
BD

Sounds like i need to get another job! Congrats to all who pick up this deal

Yeah !!!! A big cheers for Bruce !! I have been waiting so long for this, thanks for all the help Bruce. Finally I will get my Birthday present LOL !
OrchidWiz is a great product. Have been using it for years as a main source for cultural information and pictures. Very good customer service in addition to a fantastic product.
Is anyone at OT running Orchidwiz on a MacBook Pro? I am NOT a computer whiz, but I've been trying to figure my way through all the requirements for downloading virtual machineware so that I can run Windows (which I don't have) so that I can run Orchidwiz on my Mac. I am totally confused about whether I have the system requirements for any of the 3 parts of this deal, and the more I read, the more confused I get.
Help! I'd really rather hear from a member about how this actually works for them, and not from a supportline at one of the software developers.

Hi Maura
With Parallel or VMware you have to install windows onto your mac. There is another programme i use often on my mac from codeweavers called CrossOver. I have macbook air and a few windows laptops on xp, vista and 7 as i need them in order to do my job sometimes so i dont have the need to install windows on my mac. Which from what you save on orchidwiz will cost far more than the saving for the licence.
System requirements for my recommendation are
Intel-based Macintosh system running Mac OS X
(note: CrossOver will not run on PowerPC systems)
120 MB of free disk space
Mac OS X Leopard (10.5.x) or later is recommended.
For CrossOver 10.x and higher, Tiger (10.4.x) is no longer supported.
CrossOver 10.1 and above support Mac OS Lion (10.7.x)
Hope this helps you
