I can't be much help but I do know that mine like lots of sun, actually they recieve almost full sun. And they do become MONSTERS.

I have this Schomburgkia brysiana or Myrmecophila brysiana, whichever nomenclature you like best. I ordered it right after christmas, and received it on 01/07/2008. I watched the newest growth on it continue to grow, but then eventually the two leaves on the newest growth turned brown and then fell off. Now the entire growth has shriveled. Other than that, the plant seems to be doing OK. It has grown plenty of new roots in the past few weeks. Admittedly, I bought it without doing enough research into it, and I'm not sure I'll be able to provide enough light for it, so I may end up having to sell or trade it. hint hint I'm sure some of you on here might be willing to take it off my hands if it comes down to that.
Oh, BTW, sorry for the pictures being blurry, my camera is very temperamental...

Yes, very bright sunlight. I would ease it into full sun to see how it does, but definitely lots of very bright light.
Cheers,

That new growth may have succumbed to black/brown rot.
If the pathogen got a foothold on the new growth during shipping, then it was really out of your control and the young p-bulb was doomed before you got it.
I would observe all the other new growths to see if they exhibit the same symptoms - which could indicate a more systemic problem rather than an isolated shipping mishap.
