Not many people may have noticed, and I was really too busy to make any announcements, but OrchidTalk recently celebrated its 5 year birthday.
Way back in 2003, Louis and I turned our hobby into a business. We grew and sold orchids commercially for two years. After Louis decided to go back to school, we closed our orchid business in 2005, but we kept the OrchidTalk Orchid Forum up and running since the beginning.
Many people visit our orchid forum here every day. We have friends from all over the world because of this community. Many of the original members (who may or may not have been customers) are still members, visitors, or guests after all this time. We have lots of new members join and participate here every day as well.
OrchidTalk really has been remade since 2005 when I became more active in administering the day to day forum and we closed the business associated with it. In the last three years, we have grown by leaps and bounds. We have upgraded our server three times and continually upgrade the overall forum and software as time and funding allows.
I just wanted to say thanks to the community here for hanging out and making OrchidTalk my favorite stop on the internet.
I hope you enjoy the forum. If you do, please share our orchid forum's URL with your friends and members of your Orchid Society. By making a personal recommendation to your friends, you help to grow our community, increase our knowledge base, and ensure OrchidTalk's continual development.
Happy Birthday, OrchidTalk! Wishing everyone all the best.
Cheers,
BD
