That's really pretty! I love the colors . Great plant! It's actually one of my favorite phal species--Phal Bellina (the other is Phal violacea). I think it's fragrant too, right?

Wow. Does this mean your DH/SO got it for you? That's really sweet !!! My DH only leaves me dirty dishes and laundry. (But, he did build the shade porch...) And, this plant will be the next one I get. It is so beautiful!

I hate to tell you, this is a cross of Phalaenopsis (bellina x violacea). Now that P. bellina is reclassified by Christensen, what use to be considered P. (violacea var. Borneo x violacea) or vice versa is now considered a primary hybrid. Good flower. Thanks for sharing.

How could you tell that is is a hybrid between the two species? Just curious, I have both, but they havn't flowered yet.

    Default Phal. Bellina

Phalaenopsis bellina looks like the four pictures attached. You can tell the difference in the coloration around the column. Pure P. bellina has a minimal fushiaist coloration expressed around the column area. A more intense barring effect occurs more distally into the sepals and petals, when you have a primary hybrid cross between Phal. violacea and P. bellina.
