Nice looking plant. I am interested to see how well it grows in a basket. Please keep us updated.
Cheers,
BD

I have attached pictures which I wanted to share with you of my armeniacum which I just potted in a basket. I have read many posts about the basket being better for the stolon growths. If you can see under the right leaf, there is a new growth coming from the base of the plant. I also found a stolon growing. I really hope that it turns into a good growth also.
The tips on some of the roots had some rot on them so I trimmed those and put the roots in Hydrogen peroxide.
I am hoping that in the basket now it will thrive.
Thanks
Fadi

Yes, looks good, Fadi. What kind of medium are you using in the basket, is that bark, I can't really tell??
Hi BD. I will keep you guys updated on the progress periodically. I really hope it works. One worry is that the medium will take longer to dry. i might be mistaken but I used a lot of potting material. then again, it is in a basket and more air should go through and dry the medium
I am using medium sized bark Geoffrey. When I bought my Paph, I was advised to use that medium.
Thanks for looking guys
Fadi
Just a small update guys.. the bark is already nearly dry. It was just potted last Wednesday. I was afraid that using a lot of bark would keep te medium too wet, but that didnt happen. I guess that being in a basket and with the good airflow, it basically will dry more quickly so that is good news.
Thanks
Fadi
I just wanted to share with you that my paph armenicacum is doing very well after being potted in a basket for six months now. The older new growth has gotten a bit bigger(its such a slow grower!) and we have a new growth a bit away from the main plant. It is still a bit small. You can see it highlighted in red arrows or a circle(sorry the red lines are so small!).
I am very proud of it. I was worried that I was going to kill it but after reading a lot about potting such paphs in basket because of the stolons that it creates and how new growth appear far from the main plant, I decided to pot it in a basket. I am very happy that I followed that advice.
Thanks for looking guys

Hehe.. my basket looks just like yours.... dries way quicker than similar medium in plastic pots...
Well, in the summer Nordic, it is drying in 3 days. Now, it is taking a bit more (around 5 days) with the higher humidity of autumn and the lower temps.
Cheers
Fadi
I'm glad to see this success too... I may just have to try something similar. Thanks for the update Fadi, and hopefully it starts to grow faster and flower soon!
