Isn't this a catasetum nestled in here?
In that pot I have 4 Encyclias (in the back), 1 Cycnoches (front right), and a small jatropha (front left).

All in all, I'd say an ingenious use of space.
    Thank you!

    Shann~

    Ah...that's what it is...

Cycnoches is a part of the Catasetum family (Catasetinae)

I didn't realize that. I hope it blooms for me this year...has some great new growth.

That is a really nice collection! I learned a lot about fitting more orchids in my space from the pictures. The bamboo hanging rods are great, I will have to remember to replace mine this winter.

I missed this earlier...WOW, what a great bunch of orchids and clever use of space! Do you have to take all those hanging orchids down to water? Lots of work!

    These plants look wonderful!
I wouldn't worry about them being close together as long as they are getting adequate air circulation, light, and humidity. My uncle, an avid orchid hobbyist in Florida, has displays
of hanging pots very similar to yours and they always have great blooms.

    I just saw these posts!

Yes, on the weekends I take them down for water and fertilizer. I like to check each one for signs of issues. It can be hard to see everyone when they are all packed together like that. I try and get out early do avoid baking in the summer sun!

Thank you~ That's encouraging! I use every scrap of space I can find!

Glad I was able to inspire you!! Those bamboo poles I found are very sturdy. I made sure they wouldn't budge using small ceiling hooks and some plastic tie things (not sure what to call them) I found for securing tree's to stakes.

Nice growing area, Shann. It looks great and your plants look very happy! I think they need some new friends to fill the empty spaces.
