    Default New oncidium

I just bought this little pretty and am very satisfied with my find. :-) Technically a noid, but most likely Oncidium Sharry Baby 'Yellow Flash' from what I can tell. Definitely scented, though it's hard to describe - very sweet.

    Very nice!

Looks like my Oncidium Ruffles. How large is the plant?

Plant size - it has three bulbs total, 2 appear to be blooming size. They have leaves ca. 15 inches long and 2 spikes each and branching. (yep, 4 branches spikes for me! :-) ) The full sized bulbs are about 2.5 inches.

Then it could be Oncidium Ruffles as well. The Sharry Babys usually smell like chocoloate.

Hm, the pictures of the Onc. ruffles that I had seen didn't look at that similar. Really it is sold as Oncidium Von Holm by the Dutch vendors here, but that doesn't exist. Consensus seemed to toward to the Sharry Baby Yellow Flash. But thanks for the additional info!

Ah. But there is a Odontoglossum Violetta von Holm (bictoniense x (bictoniense x rossii).

    Could this be it?

I did a quickie internet image search using google and found what looks to be an exact match for your bloom. I would say it is 99.9% sure to be oncidium Sharry Baby 'Yellow Flash'. I would have posted the photo (first one in search results) but it is on a UK vendor site and url stamped.

    Cheers,
    BD
