    Default Agar agar everywhere...

I'm in the early days of getting ready to put some flasks together and I was just wondering what your preferred agar preparation is?
I have an old bottle of nutrient agar laying around here from two majors ago, I figured I'd use that in my flasks but it expires in january so i thought that'd be problematic.
Now should i just go the health food store plain agar powder route (i'm trying to gauge whether that's the most common way around here), has anyone here done flasks with nutrient or other mixes of agar? is it worth the bother, and do you still need to add to it?
maybe i should mention, going to the health food store is just as easy for me as going to the science departments office... actually i'm at school every day, the health food store is an extra stop...

I am sure you have seen Christian's DIY Guide to Orchid Propagation . But until someone comes along and gives you an answer, it is a cool article on flasking.

    Cheers,

yep, i did read that (very helpful, btw) i'm assuming his recipe is with the kind of agar you get at the health food store... i was just wondering if say you used potato dextrose agar would that cut down on the other ingredients (like i'm assuming the honey and potato... but then would you still have to use the banana? inquiring minds and all...)
