Next time, leave the keikei attached to the cane.... With it's nice roots a growth would have popped off the side of it in no time. It is rather small, but hey I've had stuff sprout that I'd thrown in a pile to get ride of recently. I took some pics recently of some things I NEVER expected to do anything but die. Amazingly, these two tiny p-bulbs off a den had completely yellowed and looked dead but this tiny sprout grew off them after I'd thrown them into the Epidendrum basket to let them rot. lol I sure was suprised when I found the sprout coming off it! So, give it a try....what is the worst that can happen? Its already headed out anyways...
Good Luck!

absolutely, from the looks of it, it is big enough to have an eye or two to sprout a new growth. Better chances though if it were, as suggested already by another post, attached to the mother plant.
Good luck my friend and lots of patience. It sure is tiny.
Cheers,
BD
I would put it in a very small container. I use styrofoam cups cut in half to reduce the height , with lots of holes in them on the bottom and the sides , Rot is your enemy if in a pot that is large it will not dry enough , not all the way dry tho . Good Luck with it . Gin
Thanks Everyone,The pot size is 2 1/2" inside a 4" pot.My thinking was it would need the extra humidity? I will take the small pot out on its own, onto a clay saucer. The big thing I should make sure is not to over water.I can pick up something to punch a bunch of holes into for better air circulation.Like I said if it makes it,that would be great! If it doesn't,at least I tried. I will let you all know the out come. Thanks Again,Rich
