I didn't know tarantulas were native in Israel, Kfir. Could it have hitched a ride on one of your plants? It's a beauty !

Wow that's a massive spider! If I had the choice, I'd rather run into the cute little white spider posted by our friend from South Africa!

Awww, no spiders for me... I would be screaming the longs out of my body!
    Isn't the tarantula dangerous?
    I cannot think about this!

Oh my goodness! That thing is huge - lol! I don't mind seeing them behind glass or in a photo, but finding one in my greenhouse -- That would freak me out a bit. heh..

Lol I just came inside after getting rid of a baboon spider which is our local cousin of the tarantula... (it gets its name from its hairy segmented hind legs looking like baboon fingers). Nasty buggers grow up to 10cm and are pretty beefy like the tarantula. I allready have 3 geckos guarding my plants... don't need no stinking baboon spiders... Yesterday I rebuild the one pond.... eeews tonnes of centipedes.... yuckk... had my share of bugs now.

I'm mildly phobic of normal bugs. Spiders I can tolerate at a distance.
