Jane let us know what you get!!! Congrats.
Her name starts with an L, mine starts with a T ....So close.... Congrats !!!! Sad to see the contest come to an end, but understandable! Thanks LJA for all you do!
Here I am Long Island Jane! The plant arrived late today so no chance to get a picture in the daylight. It was Wilsonara Ursula Isler #18.Without the label you would swear it was a straight oncidium. The care that Louis takes when he shipped the plant is absolutely phenominal! Today was a cold blustery day here so opening the box to those perky blooms was a real treat.Many--many thanks Louis.Without you this great place to chat & make friendships would be impossible.
(Actually, that's the exact reason I didn't post a picture of it in the first place--weather's been glum here for the past week and a half....)no chance to get a picture in the daylight
Jane, thanks for the compliment about the packing! In size and shape, the blooms look very much like a regular oncidium: what I thought was really cool about them was the color. Picture an oncidium that's orange with burnt orange markings. I haven't seen on oncid quite like it, so when they bloomed I was really taken. Anyways, glad you like it!
Tadd, yeah, bummer. Off by a few letters, what can ya do. We'll have more prize giveaways very soon though--I'm actually thinking of doing one where the member who recruits 2 or more folks to join the forum gets a freebie. There's a referral system in place I haven't activated, so if two new members put your username down as their referrer, you get the plant. What do you guys think? Do you think you can you help get people to join?
Everyone who recruits 2 people gets a plant? Or you choose one lucky person amongst those? Man, I'd get you two new orchid freaks for a plant :-)
Too easy, huh?
How about, the member with the *most* referrals in any particular month gets the plant?
