Bark is fine for the nobiles. I wouldn't repot until the mix breaks down. I've noticed better blooming on my nobile hybrids when the become root-bound. I bet it smells nice!!

Just bought my first (real) dendrobium. Thanks for looking.
It's in medium bark with a few slivers of sphag mixed in. I guess I'll leave it in there for now since it's in bloom but should I be moving it to something better suited come spring?

Yeah they do better in pots that are a little too small.

I do find that as these get larger they tend to get top heavy and I need to rest the small pot in a larger and heavier pot to keep them from tipping.
to the above comments. Also, from the looks of the medium in the photo, it looks really clean and fresh. I bet it is fine and will do great!
