Rhynchostylis gigantea and Trichopilia suavis in bloom

A bad photo of my Rhynchostylis gigantea and my Trichopilia suavis. The third photo is my growning area. Should have waited for the weekend to get photo of them in sun but I'm impatient . All but three of my orchids are crammed in that area.

Very organized growing area, I see you're starting to use the walls next to the window ... I have done the same thing as well! Growing in an apartment forces you to become more ingenious with the space.

Those are cool. I like your growing space too. How about a close up? Is that the Trichopilia suavis in the front center of the photo? And what do you have mounted?

I have to figure out how to get non-blurry close-up photo from my camera! Yep, that's the suavis in the front. It still have 4 more spikes to bloom. On the wall I have a Laelia pumila and a Oncidium ornithorhynchum. I also have a Haraella odorata and a Notylia barkeri that are mounted an hanging off other's pots.

I love the rhyncostylis. I had a small one a few years back that burned up in our early Spring sun a few years ago.

Nice healthy looking plants Stephen. How do you keep the mounts from getting the wall wet after you water them. Do you let the mount dry out completely before you rehang it or do you have some kind of barrier on the wall to keep it from getting wet?

I just make sure they are not dripping before I put them back on the wall, They hand off of teacup hooks so only the very bottom edge of the mount actually touches the wall.

What I do is put the humidifier to the side of the fan. The mist from the humidifier goes right into the breeze created by the fan. Makes humid non-drying breeze but does not make the area stale and prone to fungus.
