I've got a keikei spiking right now too...on a rescue plant. Since both seem healthy enough I'm just letting them both spike out and bloom. I just keep an eye on the leaves and if I see them getting mushy I'll cut off a few spikes.

I know the roots are long enough and things are going well for this little guy.... now it is spiking!!!!! From the keiki!!!!! My question is: To cut and set him off on his own now or wait til the flowers are spent?????

I have let several keikis go ahead and bloom. It is probably better to get the plant situated in its on mount or pot first, but it happens. Good luck!

IMHO I'd cut the spike off and pot the keiki. Why put the plant under all that stress? Good luck
