I don't know anything about deflasking, but it looks like you did a good job. I was reading BD's thread on flask and compot earlier too
Maybe we can trade after our babies grow bigger...

Hi, everyone! Today I deflasked for first time. I only took picture at the end as I wasn't quite sure what I was doing... They are mix Vandas: Tessellata alba x Mem. Lyle Swanson (that is on the lable). Can I find out somehow what is going to come out? I followed the thread here to do it, but I think the fungicide was more than needed. The bath mix was 2L water (more than 1/2 gal.)+ almost 1 cup sugar and 1/4 cup fungicide. The smell was too strong. Is it too much and do I need to do something now instead of trying to fix it when too late? That was the reason I only did one. I have two more ready and one need some more time to stay.

Welcome to the club of the "first time deflaskers" !
I took the plunge 4 months ago and so far so good.
Your installation looks good, just keep an eye on the sphagnum moss and try to not keep it too wet, or add some very fine bark, perlite or small clay pellets (or all of the above!!) to "air it up" down the road if you think is stays soaking wet for too long.
Hi Margarita,
The bowl that I use is probably a couple of gallons of water. I mix 1/4 CAP fungicide and 1/2 cup sugar into the water.

I hope you wore gloves or washed your hands really well. 1/4 cup is way more than 1/4 cap.
I 'm not sure if it will hurt your orchids, but I have never used that strong of a solution on any plants before.
Depending on what you think, I would rinse those guys a bit with pure water (not too cold or too warm) too remove the strong fungicide.
Good luck.
Cheers,
BD
Great article BD. Thanks for taking the time to do this.
Update. Some of my babies seems to like me even after what I did (well, they are protected forever!LOL) But one of them doesn't look right. Is there something I can do to save it?
